Development Period

1970 -1975 The Datchet Parish Council acquired a large sum of money via a Compulsory Purchase Order of local and allotment land.

Building on the Sabatini Land was in progress. The Royal Borough funded the Library building, Datchet United Charities built the Day Centre.

At this Point Datchet Parish Council offered to fund the Building of DATCHET HALL. An attached caretaker's Bungalow was also part of the Parish Council's contribution.

1976

Village Centre Opening

The Village Centre was opened in 1976.

The Parish Council approached the Randolph Trustees asking - as the Hall build was financed by the DPC, and would need maintenance and possibly financial support - would the Trustees consider the Hall & Bungalow becoming a separate Charity and the Parish Council becoming the Trustee of this new Charity.

After consultation and consideration the Trustees agreed to this proposal.

Final Decision

A final letter dated 14/3/1979 was received from the Charity Commission and stating Charity Number 272882 could not stand as it duplicated the DRCCT. The properties on the land are already registered to the DRCCT - Document (6)

Therefore two Trustees are responsible for the Charity 252303 which includes the Sabatini Land & Buildings.
